Nieppe Forest - The Battalion relieved the 2nd/4th Oxon & Bucks LI in the right Sub-Section of the front line on the night of the 9th/10th August 1918.

10/11.8.1918:
The attacking company formed up in the front line. The ground in front of our line is flat and covered with corn giving a certain amount of cover. It is entirely covered by Rennett Farm and Bridge with a Trench in between. The River is 25ft wide, slow running and very muddy. All the crossings are covered by the enemy.

Zero Hour – 4.15 am. The attack was made by 'D' Company supported by 'C' Company. Two platoons of 'D' Company advanced and crossed the stream by footbridge, two platoons crossing higher up by plank bridges which had been put in position during he night. The attack was carried out in a most gallant manner but was not successful, as the scheme was a weak one.
