You are in [Themes] [Clubs and Groups] [Boys' Brigade]

The Boys' Brigade was founded in Glasgow on 4th October 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith. It was the first of all the uniformed organizations for boys and girls and it has since spread all over the world.

It is a religious organisation based on military lines - it combines fun and drill activities with Christian values.

The photographs show the traditional uniform including belt, haversack and pillbox cap.

Regular meetings were held during school term time, and there was usually a summer camp.
