10 Jan 2016: Fairfields, Fairview Road - The old Fairfields buildings being used previously for a Fire & Rescue exercise, before demolition and the new buildings in January of this year.

5 Mar 2016: Triangle Field new hedgerow - Planting of a hedgerow screen for the Theatre Company storage containers at the Triangle Field, organised by Roger Thompson and planted by local volunteers under guidance of Bill Acworth who supplied the saplings.

14 Mar 2016: Commonwealth Day - Annual Commonwealth Day ceremony and flag-raising, with speeches by civic leaders, Lt Col Lizzie ????-????, and Gen Sir Mike Jackson.

14 Mar 2016: The New Vicar, Rev Mike Saunders - The installation of Rev Mike Saunders as Vicar of St Lawrence church by Bishop Andrew of Reading, accompanied by Archdeacon Olivia.

20 Mar 2016: Litter Pick - The Annual Hungerford Town litter pick organised by the Town Council - volunteers receiving Health & Safety briefing and being energised ready for work!

25 Mar 2016: Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race - Younger crews and seniors undertaking the 4-day version of the Devizes to Westminster race, passing through on their first morning.

25 Mar 2016: Procession of Witness - The Good Friday Procession of Witness into the Town.

3 Apr 2016: Legion d’Honeur Presentations - The presentation of the Legion d’Honeur to local veterans: Bert Harrison, Viv Long, Bill Bailey, and Richard Pullin (son of the late Bob Pullin).

4 Apr 2016: Ale Tasting - The usual boisterous occasion early in Hocktide Week.

5 Apr 2016: Scrambling for Sweets - The modern version of street urchins scrambling to retrieve pennies - sweets and oranges distributed by the Tuttimen and Orangeman - held in the Church Hall at URC.

5 Apr 2016: Tutti Day - The Call to Commoners, despatch of Tuttimen, and ladder ceremony.

10 Apr 2016: Constable Sunday - The new Constable Ellie Dickins taking over from Mrs Susan Hofgartner and the parade to and from St Lawrence and church service.

20 Apr 2016: 6 Bridge Street - The derelict property is given a facelift.

21 Apr 2016: Queen's 90th Birthday - Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday celebratory beacon lighting, at the behest of HRH Prince of Wales. At the Triangle Field, supported by civic leaders, the Town Band and local youth groups.

24 Apr 2016: French flea market -  promoted by Town & Manor held in High St and Corn Exchange.

26 Apr 2016: Mayor's Reception - The annual Mayor of Hungerford's reception held at the Royal British Legion. Pics of the 'chain gang' and Lt Col plus RSM from Tidworth, and Town Clerk and TC office staff.

April 2016: Green HST on bridge - Special photos of the new green livery Great Western region High Speed Trains.

11 May 2016: Vienna Piano Trio - The Vienna Piano Trio playing in St Lawrence's Church as part of the Newbury Festival. Princess Alexandra is one of their patrons and was in attendance (centre front row, right) - a Royal added to the complication for the church officials organising!

12 Jun 2016: Barbeque for Queen's 90th Birthday - St Lawrence church hosted a barbeque in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday. The event was held both inside and in the churchyard due to the inclement weather.

14 Jun 2016: Freedom of Town Awards - Freedom of Hungerford awards to David Clayton, Janette Kersey and Neale Marney MBE - presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire.

25 Jun 2016: Parade by 6 REME - The annual parade by our 'twinned' regiment 6REME from Tidworth, with static displays in the High Street, the parade with Gen Sir Mike Jackson taking the salute, and social in the Hungerford Club afterwards.

2 Jul 2016: Armed Forces Day - National Armed Forces Day celebrations hosted by the Royal British Legion club with representation from 6 REME, and other local serving forces members and veterans with wreath laying and award of RBL certificates.

19 Jul 2016: Youth and Community Centre - Publicity photos for the award of a grant to the Youth & Community centre.

28 Aug 2016: 200th Anniversary of St Lawrence's Church - with Bishop Andrew Proud.

3 Sep 2016: Heritage Rail Excursion - stopping at Hungerford Station.

7 Sep 2016: Hungerford in Bloom Competition - Presentation of awards to the winners in the Hungerford in Bloom competition.

10 Sep 2016: Hungerford Carnival - Assembly of the entrants in the Carnival parade and judging for the awards by the Mayor and Bellman outside the JoG school in Priory Rd, prior to the parade photographed from under the railway bridge and its welcoming shelter from the rain.

30 Sep 2016: McMillan Coffee Morning - The McMillan coffee morning fund-raising event hosted by the URC with raffle prize presentations by local celebrity Nick Lumley.

28 Nov 2016: Christmas Lights - Tripod-mounted shots of the Christmas lights on a good evening for photography - cool and with no wind to blur the longer exposures needed in the low light.

9 Dec 2016: Victorian Extravaganza - The annual Victorian Extravaganza - before and during the parade.

18 Dec 2016: Mayor's Carol Service - The Mayor's Town Carol service at St Lawrence.

Trains - A selection from my large collection of railway images showing interesting and colourful trains which passed through Hungerford during the year on the GWR main line to the SW, 11 of which were hauled by large express steam and 4 heritage diesel locomotives.
